Check out our Throwback Tune of the Month and get your Ricky Martin on!

Ricky Martin

Livin’ la Vida Loca is Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin’s number one hit song. This is the tune that propelled him forward into the English-speaking market, and that success is what helped a lot of other Spanish-speaking pop artists crossover. This song, released in 1999, was written by Desmond Child and Draco Rosa, and was nominated for various Grammys. That’s not surprising because Livin’ La Vida Loca is incredibly relatable. It talks about falling for a woman who pushes you to the edge of insanity, yet makes you forget about all of the pain she leaves in her wake. I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely feeling Ricky Martin on this one.

What about you? Feeling daring today? Check out the fun and upbeat Latin pop song for yourself!

About the author:

As Latin é's Editor-in-Chief, Caitlin believes in quality over quantity, doing things right the first time, and humming to herself during difficult tasks. A true Texan at heart, she also believes in the power of cowboy boots, that the stars at night should always be big and bright, and that everything (especially the food) is bigger in Texas. When she's not writing or editing she enjoys curling up to read a good book (or three), going on grand adventures (the more walking involved, the better) with her adoring and adorable husband, bright colors (in clothes, cooking, and everything else), and going barefoot. She likes her food spicy, her music soulful, and her news breaking. You can read more of her work on her website, www.themathom-house.com!
