Ana, a Salvadoran nanny and a mother of two. Nancy, a lawyer challenged by fulfilling both personal and professional goals. Two working mothers who make difficult choices so they can provide a better life for their children. A funny and touching play that explores the shared humanity between a nanny and her employer and the differences wrought by race, class and immigration status.
Abel López is GALA’s Associate Producing Director, where he most recently directed Divorciadas, evangélicas, y vegetarianas and Nilo Cruz’s Beauty of the Father. Other credits include Tu ternura Molotov, Agustín Lara: Boleros & Blues, Elliot: A Soldier’s Fugue, Real Women Have Curves, and El beso de la mujer araña. He is chair of Americans for the Arts.
Performances are April 24th – May 18th, 2014, Thursdays to Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm.
Student matinee presentations with post-performance discussion: May 2nd, May 9th and May 16th at 10:30 am.
