Food | La Tasca

This small spanish bistro will invite you in and make you feel right at home, La Tasca style...

La Tasca is a small Spanish restaurant in downtown DC, nestled among townhouses, which serves signature tapas, paellas, and housemade sangria. The first thing I noticed, upon entering, was the colossal projector screen by the bar. There is definitely a lively atmosphere here, and the size of the menu alone makes choosing a dish a fun adventure. When I arrived there were couples and small parties scattered throughout the two dining floors, which lends the entire restaurant a sense of warmth and hominess.

I decided to order the tortilla de patatas, a Spanish omelet with potato fillings. The service was quick, and before long I was digging into the huge omelet set before me. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, warm and crumbling – held together by the sponge-like texture of the actual omelet. It was perfectly seasoned, and I was full by the time I took my last bite. In fact, half a day later I was still full.

That’s what I call satisfaction.

This would be a great spot for a late breakfast or a lazy Sunday-afternoon brunch.
