Carla's Tips: Rock the Gold Dress

Gold Dress a la Selena Gomez | Haute Cocktail

Gold Dress a la Selena Gomez | Haute Cocktail

Selena Gomez looked amazing in her red ensemble during her performance at the MTV Movie Awards last Sunday. However, let’s talk about her gold dress and  peep toe heels that she wore to walk down the red carpet. I have to say, this simple outfit was oh-so-fun and sexy. It’s the prefect dress to wear for a night of dancing with friends or an upscale bachelorette party.

The color and detail of the dress is what makes it a standout, so it was a great idea to pair it with simple shoes and minimum jewelry. Also, notice that she chose one part of her body to showcase. In this case, her legs, while keeping her cleavage and arms in check with a higher neckline and long sleeves. You don’t have to cover your arms if that’s your asset, but make sure to pick a longer skirt. If you notice, the color of the dress sort of matches the color of her skin, so try to find a gold or copper that matches yours to create the same effect. Check out my options below. I showcase a gold dress for lighter skins and a gold/copper one for darker skins.
